Punkin' Heads!

Is there anyone out there who has seen enough pictures of my kids lately? No? Ok, good- here goes!
Today we spent the afternoon at Brown's Berry Patch. In October, they rename it "Brown's PUMPKIN patch," and with good reason. You could spend an entire day there, there's so much for the kids to do. The biggest hit was the pony rides. Kelly was excited from the get-go, and Carrie didn't really grasp what we were talking about until she actually SAW the ponies. For a child who has an irrational fear of the merry-go-round, she sure was excited about REAL ponies! Waiting in line for her turn, it was all Daddy could do to hold her. She tried running into the pony ring and had to be removed, then struggled in his arms for freedon, screaming, "I want to ride the pooooo-nies!!!" until it was her turn.

Finally, they both got turns. Kelly rode around and around, talking to the pony like a long-lost friend the whole time. She stroked him gently, told him how beautiful he was.

Carrie's turn next, finally- since everyone was sick of hearing her scream, and Brian's arms were in pain!

They each got two rides, Carrie's were a bit "extended," because the fellow who tended to her ride felt sympathetic to her obvious need to bond with the little horse, and he also thought she was CUTE. (Squeaky wheel gets the grease, right?) She went round and round, calling, "Giddyap! Giddyap!"

Then, it was off to the pumpkin patch, and what a patch it was! I have to admit, even at 35, I enjoyed walking and walking through the seemingly endless rows of pumpkins, just looking for the perfect gourd- and helping the little ones find one they could actually carry!
Carrie found hers first. It's a little lumpy, and that attracted her to it. Very small, she carted it around like a crown jewel.

Kelly found one...

And everyone walked happily back to wait for the next hay-ride wagon to take their pumpkins back to the car.

Not sure who that other little kid is, he just sort of wandered into the picture! ;)
Ok, here's a fun picture...
If you didn't see the little farmer-looking overalls on Kelly....

Wouldn't it be easy to mistake her little orange head for one of the pumkins? Heehee!
